The soil preparation is one of the most important stages to be accomplished in the soil for agricultural exploration. Through the time different types of preparation of the soil were developed. The organic matter content and the distribution and the mineralogical and chemical compositions of the soil can be influenced by the adopted handling practices. The organic matter represents the main source of negative charges in soils with advanced weathering degree, making its study essential to the maintenance and/or elevation of its content in the soil, as well as the study of the soil electric charges. The objectives of this work were to evaluate the effects of three soil preparation systems on the carbon distribution by the soil profile, and also on mineralogical and physical attributes, and some electrochemistries properties, especially the point of zero charge (PZC) of the soil. The systems of preparation were: no tillage (NT) and conventional preparations with disk plow (DP) and with heavy grating (HG). The soil samples were taken from the depths of 0-2,5; 2,5-5,0; 5,0-10,0; 10,0-20,0 and 100-120 cm. It was determined the total organic carbon (TOC), in the soil samples. The humics substances were fractioned of according to the technique of differential solubility. The PZC was viiiestimated by the point of zero charge by saline effect (PZCSE) which was calculated by curves of potentiometer titulation. The largest contents of TOC were observed in the superficial layers, decreasing with the increase of the depth. In the superficial layer, in the NT there was a tendency to increase of the TOC in relation to the other preparations of the soil. The fulvic, humics and the humin fractions decreased with depth, except that the depth 100,0-120,0 cm that was a little increased. The carbon content of the humin fraction was larger than the other humics substances. The NT let a larger storage of organic carbon than the other systems. In general, the studied soil showed low values of PZCSE in all systems and practically the same ones in the identical depths.
