A paz começa dentro da família : uma etnografia no sertão do São Francisco

Abstract

O tema deste trabalho delimita-se na relação entre família, Estado e violência no sertão do São Francisco, sendo vingança, reputação e honra as categorias analíticas fundamentais para o estudo. Atualmente em Cabrobó PE, os sujeitos de disputas históricas locais têm despertado a atenção pela transformação dos modos característicos de socialização diante de novas configurações que chegam ao local. Conflitos que marcaram profundamente tantas biografias e a própria história da cidade, agora parecem ficar subentendidos em meio a mudanças nas configurações sociais. Considerando a importância dos valores e práticas locais diante de influências externas e macro-sociais, os moradores dessa pequena cidade têm desafiado leituras analíticas sobre seus modos específicos de dialogar com tradições e modernizações. Sob essa perspectiva é que a pesquisa propõe analisar a complexidade das dinâmicas de poder local, considerando, por um lado, os modos de ação familiar que tangenciam as relações sociais nativas e, de outro, a forma como essa estrutura simbólica local reage às intervenções exógenas.The theme of this work is defined in the relationship between family and state violence in the hinterland of San Francisco in the Brazilian Northeast. The analytical keys for this study are revenge, honor and reputation. Currently in Cabrobó - PE, topics of local historical disputes have attracted the attention of the transformation characteristic modes of socialization of new configurations before arriving at the site.
