A impotância taxonômica e ecológica dos osmóforos em Chamaecrista Moench (Leguminosae)

Abstract

Apoucouita é uma das seções de Chamaecrista Moench (Leguminosae) que, diferencia das outras seções, é caracterizada por reunir espécies de porte arbóreo que ocorrem em florestas tropicais. Adicionalmente, nas anotações das fichas de exsicatas das espécies desta seção, é comum o registro sobre a presença de um odor adocicado perceptível ao olfato humano que é exalado pelas flores. Tricomas secretores, coléteres, nectários, cavidades, canais, idioblastos e osmóforos já foram reportados para representantes de Leguminosae, mas carecem de estudos anatômicos sobre estruturas secretoras florais na seção Apoucouita. Objetivando contribuir com informações sobre estruturas secretoras florais em Leguminosae, este trabalho descreveu anatomicamente e histoquimicamente a região responsável pela produção e liberação de odor nas flores de uma espécie da seção Apoucouita, Chamaecrista ensiformis var ensiformis (Vellozo). Espécies pertencentes às outras seções do gênero também foram avaliadas comparativamente. As amostras foram obtidas em coletas de campo e posteriormente processadas conforme metodologias usuais para avaliar a caracterização estrutural das glândulas, bem como a natureza química da secreção produzida. As análises anatômicas juntamente com os resultados dos testes histoquímicos permitiram identificar a epiderme da antera como a região responsável pela produção e liberação do aroma em C. ensiformis var ensiformis (Vellozo). Nas demais espécies avaliadas não foram reconhecidas regiões secretoras anatomicamente equivalentes. Os dados obtidos contribuíram efetivamente para a inferência da presença de osmóforos somente para a espécie da seção Apoucouita. Palavras-chave: Anatomia. Antera. Histoquímica. Osmóforos

Apoucouita is one of the sections of Chamaecrista Moench (Leguminosae) which, unlike the other sections, is characterized by bringing together species of arboreal size that occur in tropical forests. Additionally, in the notes on the records of exsiccates of the species in this section, it is common to record the presence of a sweet odor perceptible to the human sense of smell that is exhaled by the flowers. Secretory trichomes, colleters, nectaries, cavities, channels, idioblasts and osmophores have already been reported for representatives of Leguminosae, but anatomical studies on floral secretory structures are lacking in the Apoucouita section. Aiming to contribute with information about floral secretory structures in Leguminosae, this work described anatomically and histochemically the region responsible for the production and release of odor in the flowers of a species from the Apoucouita section, Chamaecrista ensiformis var ensiformis (Vellozo). Species belonging to the other sections of the genus were also comparatively evaluated. The samples were obtained in field collections and later processed according to usual methodologies to evaluate the structural characterization of the glands, as well as the chemical nature of the secretion produced. The anatomical analyzes together with the results of the histochemical tests allowed to identify the anther epidermis as the region responsible for the production and release of the aroma in C. ensiformis var ensiformis (Vellozo). In the other species evaluated, no anatomically equivalent secretory regions were recognized. The data obtained contributed effectively to the inference of the presence of osmophores only for the species in the Apoucouita section. Keywords: Anatomy. Anther. Histochemistry. Osmophores.
