The wastewaters from the washing and husking of the coffee shrub cherries (ARC) are greatly pollutant to the environment for their richness in either suspended organic material and organic and inorganic constituents in solution. Taking into account the conditions imposed by the Environmental Legislation concerning to the release of wastewaters in the watercourses, the development of new ways for the treatment and final disposition of those residues in the environment becomes a need. Among the alternative forms for the treatment and/or disposition of these organic material-rich wastewaters is the fertirrigation, from which the technique prioritizes the use of the nutrients found in the wastewater for substitution of the chemical fertilization in cropped agricultural areas. Aiming at the evaluation of the nutritional state of the Arabic coffee shrub and the chemical alterations in the soil, after applying different doses of wastewater from the washing and husking the coffee shrub cherries (ARC), an experiment was carried out in the Experimental Area for Hydraulic, Irrigation and Drainage pertaining to the Agricultural Engineering Department. A 290 m 2 area and 162 Arabic coffee shrubs, Catuaí cv. were used. The ARC was collected in the UFV coffee processing unit after being subjected to a filtration process, from which the pulped coffee cherries were the filtering material. Based on the potassium content analyses in the filtered ARC, the doses of ARC to be applied to the soil were established. The K + doses corresponding to 66.4, 99.6, 132.77, 166.0 and 199.0 g were applied to the soil for two months. Some coffee shrub leaves were collected on May, June, July, August, and December in order to evaluate the concentration of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu and Mn in the coffee shrub. Polynomial regression equations were adjusted for nutrient concentration as a function of time. At the end of the ARC application, some soil samples were collected at depths from 0 to 20 cm; 20 to 40 cm; 40 to 60 cm and 60 to 90 cm in order to obtain the value of pH, electric conductivity in solution 1:2,5, and the quantification of N total , P, K, Ca, Mg and the available P, Fe, Cu and Mn, and the bases total as well. The results obtained from the soil analysis were used for the adjustment of the regression equations, by looking for the obtainment of models for nutrient distribution and chemical alterations at different soil depths. Besides supplying nutrients, the ARC application provided conditions for higher absorption of some macro- and micronutrients by the coffee shrubs and general macronutrient leaching in the soil profile, as well as providing an increase in the concentration of the exchangeable potassium up to 90 cm, which provided an increased electric conductivity in the solution of the soil cropped with coffee plant. The increase in the soil potassium concentration provided some deficiency of calcium and mainly magnesium in the leaves of the coffee shrub, therefore the reinforcement of those macronutrients in the areas fertirrigated with ARC is advisable. When the ARC is applied at doses higher than 3.0 times the K recommended for this crop, it provokes serious problems to the coffee shrub because the decrease in the soil osmotic potential. The ARC fertirrigation may not be applied at established doses based on requirements for coffee shrub irrigation, as well as the continuity of the water application on the coffee shrub caused no detectable physiologic effects neither changed the nutritional state of the coffee shrub.
