Veleidades histórico-culturais em Dôra, Doralina (1975): representação feminina na literatura de Rachel de Queiroz

Abstract

A presente dissertação investiga como o romance de Rachel de Queiroz, Dôra, Doralina, representa as transformações sociais na imagem feminina, em diálogo com as relações e influências do contexto sociocultural brasileiro da década de 30. A análise se concentra na investigação dos elementos sociais que atuam na tessitura narrativa, como componentes norteadores para os comportamentos da protagonista, tendo como pano de fundo o contexto da Revolução de 30 no Brasil, com suas revoltas sociais e embates políticos, a Industrialização oriunda de influências externas, e a véspera da Segunda Guerra Mundial, relacionando-se com o drama de vida da protagonista, revelando a sua perspectiva diante dos acontecimentos históricos do país. Tendo em vista que o romance se apresenta em forma de relato memorialístico, concentramo-nos na análise da figura da narradora para tecer considerações a respeito de sua transformação no cenário ficcional, isto é, para entender a forma como a narrativa se desenvolve a medida que os fragmentos sobre o cenário nacional vão se construindo no imaginário do leitor, e os dramas pessoais vividos por ela também vão se mostrando e acompanhando tais desenvolvimentos. O foco do estudo dar-se-á em torno do relato de Dôra para entender as relações entre a construção de sua imagem e a possibilidade de abertura para se pensar uma nova mulher , concebida dentro de uma noção em que considera a dimensão ideológica e social da literatura.

This dissertation intends to investigate how the novel by Rachel de Queiroz, Dôra, Doralina, represents the social changes in the female image, in dialogue with the relationship and influences of the socio-cultural Brazil in the 30s. The analysis focuses on the investigation of the social elements that appear in the narrative, as components for guiding the behavior of the protagonist into the context of the Revolution of 1930 in Brazil, with its social and political upheavals, Industrialization caused by external influences, and the eve of World War II. All these elements are related to the drama of heroine s life, revealing her perspective on historical events in the country. As the discourse of the novel is a memoir, the analysis of the work focuses on the story of the narrator to make considerations about its transformations into fictional scenario, ie, to understand how the narrative unfols as fragments on the national scene are revealed in the readers imaginary and how the protagonist s dramas also accompany these transformations. The focus of this study will occur on the Dôra s report to understand the relationship between building hers image of openness and the possibility to relate the character with the symbol of a new woman, conceived a notion that considers the social and ideological dimension of literature.
