Contribuição do manejo sustentável em floresta do bioma amazônico para minimização de gases de efeito estufa

Abstract

Objetivou-se com o estudo avaliar a contribuição do manejo sustentável em floresta do bioma amazônico na minimização da concentração de gases de efeito estufa na atmosfera e a geração de créditos de carbono no âmbito do mercado regulado ou outras formas de negociação no mercado, bem como, a sua utilização para o cumprimento da NDCs pelo Brasil. O levantamento exploratório da vegetação estudada se encontra em uma área sob manejo florestal sustentável com procedimentos de exploração de impacto reduzido, denominado Modeflora, localizada na região sudeste do estado do Acre. Nesse contexto, com o intuito de responder às incertezas e estimativas do estoque de carbono existente na floresta e sua contribuição no âmbito das mudanças climáticas a tese foi composta por três capítulos específicos. No primeiro artigo objetivou-se ajustar equações alométricas para estimar volume, biomassa e carbono no fuste de árvores comerciais em uma área sob manejo sustentável na região sudeste do estado do Acre, de forma a contribuir para melhoria das estimativas da produção florestal e estoque de carbono. No segundo artigo, objetivou-se estimar o volume, biomassa e carbono na parte aérea de espécies florestais comerciais em uma floresta manejada antes e depois da exploração madeireira na região sudeste do estado do Acre. Estimou-se o volume, biomassa e carbono total (toco, fuste e copa) para as 81 espécies comerciais, sendo que as árvores remanescentes (raras, corte futuro, porta semente ou matriz) e árvores a proteger (protegidas por lei ou proibidas de corte, árvores em área de preservação permanente - APP) permanecerão na floresta, enquanto as árvores exploráveis (ou de corte) sairão do sistema. O foco do terceiro artigo foi avaliar o estoque de carbono nas árvores, toras e produtos madeireiros provenientes de áreas sob manejo sustentável na região sudeste do estado do Acre, Brasil.. Portanto, as informações geradas pelos artigos poderão contribuir na geração de argumentos técnicos para que haja a inserção futura do manejo sustentável como atividade passível de gerar créditos de carbono no âmbito do mercado regulado ou outras formas de negociação no mercado, bem como, a sua utilização para o cumprimento da NDCs pelo Brasil.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the contribution of sustainable forest management in the Amazonian biome in minimizing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and the generation of carbon credits within the regulated market or other forms of trading in the market, as well as , its use for Brazil's compliance with NDCs. The exploratory survey of the studied vegetation is in an area under sustainable forest management with procedures of exploration of reduced impact, denominated Modeflora, located in the southeast region of the state of Acre. In this context, in order to respond to the uncertainties and estimates of the carbon stock in the forest and its contribution to climate change, the thesis was composed of three specific chapters. In the first article we aimed to adjust allometric equations to estimate volume, biomass and carbon in the stem of commercial trees in an area under sustainable management in the southeastern region of the state of Acre, in order to contribute to the improvement of estimates of forest production and carbon stock . In the second article, the objective was to estimate the volume, biomass and carbon in the aerial part of commercial forest species in a forest managed before and after logging in the southeast region of the state of Acre. Volume, biomass and total carbon (stump, stem and canopy) were estimated for 81 commercial species, with remaining trees (rare, future cut, seed or matrix) and trees to be protected (protected by law or prohibited from cutting, permanent preservation (APP) trees will remain in the forest, while exploitable (or cutting) trees will exit the system. The focus of the third article was to evaluate the carbon stock in trees, logs and wood products from areas under sustainable management in the southeastern region of the state of Acre, Brazil .. Therefore, the information generated by the articles may contribute to the generation of technical arguments for that there is a future insertion of sustainable management as an activity capable of generating carbon credits within the scope of the regulated market or other forms of trading in the market, as well as its use for compliance by NDCs in Brazil.
